Hebrew Union College’s Heller Museum along with the Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music and Holocaust Music Lost & Found Present, “The Women’s Orchestra of Auschwitz: A Story of Survival,” a book discussion with live music. Hear from award-winning historian and author Anne Sebba and Bret Werb, Music Curator of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, as they discuss music as resistance and survival, followed by music once performed by the Women’s Orchestra of Auschwitz, in commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Sarah Vonsattel will be performing selections by Mendelssohn and Chopin to accompany the lecture and book discussion.
